ATTEMPT at taking my own family portraits

I said ATTEMPT for a reason. Not such great results so far. Haven't looked at them all yet but I did just a couple tonight. First one is horrible but how can I not show it off when Mr. Doka decided to grace us with his presence and stick his butt right in Bennett's face to get into the family photo!!!

Hayden and I made t-shirts for the girls to show Daddy on Father's Day. Hayden "ironed" them on and then Mommy really ironed them on. Who wouldn't hire DSD after seeing these two cuties model the logo??? :)

Party Time!

Hayden had her birthday party today and of course it was a million degrees outside! To quote one of the mommy's at the party, "I think it gets 5 degrees hotter every year at her birthday party!" I guess there is something to be said for having a winter baby :). Next year I'm thinking ice skating party! The kids didn't skip a beat though.... heat or not.... they had a blast playing in the back yard. Mishap with the pony scheduled but she finally arrived and Hayden LOVED it. Of course she was stoked and dramatic when opening all her presents. "Wow" "Oh I love it!" "Oh its soooooo beautiful" "I always wanted one mommy". She is something else. Then on to cake and ice cream and she blew out her candles in one try. Thanks to everyone who made it to the party. Hayden loves entertaining so it really made her day to have everyone at "her" house. You know she had a blast when she fell asleep for the night at 6:30. Pray mommy doesn't have to wake up with her at 5am!!!!

Happy Birthday Hayden!

I can not believe my little girl is 3 years old. Thanks to Nana, Hayden and I got to go on a birthday date while Bennett stayed home to play with her Nana. We went to Water Country and had lots of fun. Hayden was so proud of herself that she finally got up the nerve to let go of me in the HubbaHubba Highway and float all by herself! So proud in fact we were in the floating river for two hours!!!! Then we had a minor set back  as she sprayed herself in the eyes with sunscreen and off to the first aid building we went. One eye flush later we were back in business and heading to the wave pool to get knocked over by the crashing waves. On our way out I gave in and let Hayden go into the candy shop (come one... the girl had to go to first aid.. candy was the least I could do right? :)! ) With a bag of jelly beans and a frozen lemonade in her hands we were headed for the car.

Birthday presents and cake last night. Meme and PopPop came over to see Hayden open presents. Hayden got a polly pocket play set, a doll, a tea party set, and roller skates! I think these were all great gifts as she has played with all of it over and over today. We sang happy birthday and blew out the candles and we even got a family photo taken!!!!

As we finished reading Little Mermaid in bed, Hayden said "Mommy my birthday isn't over yet is it?" So I said, "nope we are going to do it all over again on Sunday for your party". Her response...."ok good because I need some more time".

Another Race...

What a great day yesterday with Nana and Pop Pop. Hayden was soooooo excited to run another race with Pop Pop and it turned out to be a great morning. We got there just in time to cheer Pop Pop on at the finish line of his 8K race. Then it was on to the 1 mile race for us. This was Hayden's second race and she ran the mile under 17 minutes! Not bad for a soon to be three year old (in four days). After the race we played in the park and danced to the music while we waited for Pop Pop to receive his award. I think we will definitely be looking for more family races to run. We had a blast. But oh wait... Hayden must wear a "racing outfit" next time. (Her words not mine!)

Tried out the Cheerio shot with my little BennyBee. Maybe just a bit too young still since she was slipping and sliding all over the bowl and mommy was trying to take the picture and make sure she didn't actually eat any of the cheerios (still a little too much for that little mouth of hers)...

Finally ventured out to the field across the street. I'm scared to death there are creatures living in the grass so I saw them mowing and decided this was the safest time to go. Would love longer grass for my photo vision so maybe I'll venture out for trip two soon. My girls really are beautiful (I'm not biased at all!)...
